What is Conflux?
Conflux is Canberra’s longest-running annual speculative fiction convention, celebrating science fiction, fantasy, horror, and slipstream. The multi-day festival brings together writers, artists, and fans to enjoy panel discussions, workshops, book launches, and art exhibitions, offering deep insights into the craft and business of genre storytelling.
My Involvement
I have managed and coordinated the annual Conflux Art Exhibition since 2023. I’ve also created the promotional and print imagery for the convention for 2025 and 2026. At Conflux 17, I also proudly served as the convention's official Artist in Residence. In my current role as the Conflux Arts Coordinator, I’m very pleased to work with all sorts of wonderful creative people across multiple disciplines, and present the coveted E.G. Harvey Award to the event’s “best in show” visual artist. As a bonus, I have recently given the Conflux website a little makeover, if you’d like to check it out.
